Maybe you've seen these neat tag boards where people can write short messages to each other. They're popping up all over the net and you want one too, right? Well, here are the directions for installing a tag board on the sites that are hosted by Alyson Road
Webhosting. They may (emphasis on may) work for you if you are hosted someplace else, but your paths and permissions may be different.
If so, you will have to find out from your host what they would be for you.1. You need to install 4 files for the board to work: tag.cgi tag.txt tag.html board.shtml
2. Open up tag.cgi in notepad. Where you see the word "roxydoll12" replace it with the name of your site.
Change the paths to the place where you are going to be running your board from if necessary.
Save the file as tag.cgi3. Open up board.shtml in notepad. This is the page that the messages actually appear on. Change the title of the page to your title. The colors you find there are mine. Use the hex codes to make them any colors you want. Save as board.shtml after you make your
changes.
3. Open up tag.html in notepad. This is the page on which people will write the messages and submit them. Again, change the hex codes and page names to yours. Save the file as
tag.html.
4. In notepad, make up a file with nothing in it and call it
tag.txt.
5. You will be uploading all 4 files in ASCII mode.
6. Go to your cgi-bin. Install the file tag.cgi in the
cgi-bin. CHMOD the file
755. Go to the html files section. Make a new directory called tag. CHMOD the directory
777.
7. Install the files tag.txt, tag.html and board.shtml to this directory you just created. Note that the tag.txt file is
blank.
8. CHMOD the tag.txt and board.shtml files 777. I'm not sure about the CHMOD of the tag.html file, but mine is 755 and it works that
way.
8. The address of the page is like
http://www.roxydoll12.com/tag/tag.html Replace with the name of your site and go there to try out your tag board. Hopefully, it will work!(This script was created by

clique!)
